When purchasing a second-hand car milling compound machine tool, its machining accuracy can be judged from the following aspects:

1、 Testing equipment accuracy

Geometric accuracy testing: Use tools such as precision level, precision square box, dial gauge or micrometer, angle gauge, and level ruler to test the flatness of the workbench, the perpendicularity of the movement in each coordinate direction, the radial circular runout of the spindle hole, and the axial displacement of the spindle.

Positioning accuracy detection: Dual frequency laser interferometer is used to measure linear motion accuracy, and 360 tooth precision indexing standard turntable or angular polyhedron, high-precision circular grating, and parallel light tube are used to detect rotational motion accuracy.

2、 Check the condition of the machine tool

Mechanical components: Check for wear and tear on the guide rail, clearance and wear on the lead screw, and looseness and wear on the spindle bearings. The condition of these components directly affects machining accuracy. If the spindle runout is large, the accuracy of the machined parts such as roundness and cylindricity will be affected.

Electrical system: Check if the control system is functioning properly, if there are any alarm messages, parameter loss, or other issues, and if the servo motors and drivers are working properly. If there is a malfunction in the servo system, it can lead to inaccurate motion control and affect machining accuracy.

3、 Reference machine tool archives and historical records

Equipment file: The seller is required to provide the original factory accuracy inspection report, factory certificate of conformity, and other materials of the machine tool to understand the accuracy status of the machine tool at the time of leaving the factory. Check the maintenance records of the machine tool to determine if there have been any faulty repairs that have affected machining accuracy.

Processing records: If possible, check the machine tool's past processed part samples, processing process files, etc., to understand its actual processing accuracy and stability.

4、 Conduct trial processing testing

Test piece processing: Allow the seller to use machine tools to process standard test pieces, such as circular, square, stepped and other simple shaped parts, to test the dimensional accuracy, shape accuracy, surface roughness, etc. of the parts. Complex samples can also be requested to be processed to evaluate the accuracy performance of the machine tool in multi axis linkage and complex surface machining.

Observation of the machining process: Observe the operating status of the machine tool during the machining process, such as whether the cutting of the tool is smooth, whether there is vibration or abnormal noise, whether the feed is uniform, and whether the movements of each axis are coordinated. If abnormalities occur during the processing, it may affect the machining accuracy.
